In a Methods Article in Frontiers in Earth Science, the application of OSARIS to investigate cryospheric changes in a high mountain environment in the Tien Shan, Kyrgyzstan, is demonstrated. Besides backgrounds on concept, processing scheme, and modules, the paper includes:
- Examples of detailed coherence time series and their visualization using OSARIS’ box plot tool,
- Example ‘Unstable Coherence Metric’ results and their application to detect timing and magnitude of surface change events,
- Demonstration of an individual processing scheme to improve line-of-sight displacement results by masking artifacts, correcting for atmospheric disturbances, and removing regional trends, and
- A quantitative assessment of processing result quality in comparison to ISCE and SNAP
